Yellow

With school soon to be out we will have even more time. This article will explain exactly what yellow means and what you can now do.

Now what does yellow mean? It means that our area has had a max of 50 cases per 100,000 over the course of 14 days. Basically we should be cautious because COVID-19 is still there but as long as we are careful not to help the spread we can go out. The secretary of health encourages us to wear masks, practice social distancing, wash our hands, and do curbside pickup when shopping. The stay at home order is lifted though we are encouraged to still stay at home when possible.

This is a diagram of the different phases.

With our state being yellow this allows us to now have gatherings of 25 as long as we social distance. This means if you are having a large group you should probably have it outside. Also wear masks, wash your hands, and don’t share food. Dr. Debra Bogen, that head of Allegheny County’s health department, made this suggestion at a press conference last week. “You can go sit in a park 10 feet apart and talk to your friends. Wear masks. Don’t be physically close to one another. Don’t pass things back and forth,” she said, “But there’s no problem if you can maintain that distance.”

Also more businesses will be open like clothing, garden, pet, phone, and sporting goods stores. A lot of places are still doing curbside pick up but more places are slowly opening. Food places are still restricted to curbside pickup and delivery though. Indoor spas, gyms, and theaters remain closed. All places are requiring face masks to be on before you go in. Also businesses are required to follow certain safety guidelines.
