The Typical Teenage Friday Night at NA

Although Instagram may suggest otherwise, NA students actually lead quite normal and boring lives

After what seems like a never-ending school week full of work that fries brains, almost all students find themselves with a sense of freedom and excitement. However, it is short lived, only being a whopping two days. So, while they can, NA Eye reporters investigate how students at NAI salvage their weekend.

Going to church and having youth groups with friends is pretty common. “We often play group games,” says freshman Jefferson Mei. A lot of kids think that attending church while hanging out with their friends is a nice deal, since going by themselves or just with the family can become a little dull and repetitive.

However, spending time with family doesn’t have to be tedious. An anonymous students says, “I watch movies with my family until the last person falls asleep”. In many people’s eyes, chillaxing on the couch with some great food and a horribly funny movie can be just as fun as football games on Friday nights.

Another activity students partake in are commitments to their sports. For some, getting all sweaty on a Friday is not an ideal way to spend their time at all, let alone their temporary freedom. But, for others, it’s just what they need to let loose, as an anonymous student comments, “I normally go to the barn and ride my horse”.

Miraculously, nobody interviewed responded with “I do my homework”, despite the fact that it’s every teen’s utopia. Although almost no one does their schoolwork on Fridays, numerous students think about it. Even when they are enjoying themselves, whether it be on a night out or nestled in some blankets at home, some find their minds drifting to the mindtrack of worrying about school. “Yes, I’m always thinking about school work, even if it’s subconscious”, replies Mei.

Well, whatever students do, it usually ends with them staying up until late, because most can sleep in the next morning. Nothing feels better than not setting an alarm for 6:00 AM.

Whether it’s hanging out with friends or family, practicing for sports, or just zoning out for a few  hours, there are various things that students can do to “get a break from the stressful atmosphere at school,” an anonymous person stated.
