NAEye: What sport do you play?
WS: I am on the diving team for North Allegheny.
NAEye: What grade are you in?
WS: I am in 9th grade.
NAEye: When did you start playing?
WS: I started diving downtown at Pitt in September of 2016, and North Allegheny diving october of 2019.
NAEye: Why do you continue playing this sport?
WS: I continue because I really enjoy being on a school team and I immensely like the sport itself.
NAEye: Do you play any other sports? If so, which ones?
WS: I do not do any other sports and I don’t intend to.
NAEye: What is your training/ conditioning like?
WS: At Na we dive 5 days a week (mon-fri) for 1 ½ hours. On Saturday and Sunday I work out on my own in the gym.
NAEye: Do you feel successful in your sport?
WS: I definitely feel successful in diving because I have gone to nationals, and qualified for Wpial’s in my first meet
NAEye: What is your offseason like? How do you keep in shape during it?
WS: I don’t have an offseason when Na ends I dive downtown at the University of Pittsburgh on their elite program.
NAEye: What is the hardest part of your season and what challenges you most in your sport?
WS: In my opinion, the hardest part of diving is having to do a dive right after you smacked really hard on it, but once you do you feel really accomplished.
NAEye: How do you prepare for your games/meets?
WS: I prepare by doing things that will relieve my stress like watching youtube or playing games.
NAEye: Do you feel pressured to succeed in your sport?
WS: I do not feel pressured to be successful in diving because my parents will always support the decision that is best for me and also diving is not going to pay the bills when I am an adult so I just try to enjoy it.
NAEye: What about your sport brings you the most joy?
WS: The thing that brings me the most joy is having an awesome team and team dynamic who always cheer for me and put a smile on my face.
NAEye: What is your favorite pregame meal?
WS: My favorite pre-meet meal is definitely a sandwich of any kind and a coke-cola.
