NAeye: What sport do you do?
MG: “I run Cross country.”
NAeye: How long have you been running?
MG: “I have been running for 2 years and I’m going on to my third.”
NAeye: What is your highest achievement in your sport this year?
MG: “It was either getting on the record board in middle school cross country or getting top 7 in high school cross country.”
NAeye: What are some challenges you face in your sport?
MG: “ Some challenges that I face in my sport are other runners, eating the right things, and staying hydrated.”
NAeye: how do you stay in shape during your off seasons?
MG: “During the off seasons I do other sports like Track and fields and attend Coach Neff’s summer running academy over the summer. When those aren’t going on I’m running on my own, doing core workouts, and lifting.”
NAeye: Why did you decide to stick with this sport and what do you love most about it?
MG: “ I was good at it and I love the atmosphere around it. I just love Running and hanging out with friends”
NAeye: How do you prepare for your meets?
MG: “I drink lots of water, eat lots of carbs the night before, and get the right amount of sleep. I also take deep breaths, tell myself that I am going to do good, I listen to music, and some of my friends give me motivational speeches to keep myself calm.”
NAeye: What is your training like?
MG: “We run 7 days a week. Mondays are long runs, tuesdays and thursdays are recovery runs, wednesdays and fridays are workouts and saturdays are a mix. Sometimes meets are thrown in here and there.”
NAeye: What are some of the goals you would like to achieve in the future?
MG: “I eventually want to become the number 1 runner on my team. I would also like to get a college scholarship for running.”
NAeye: Do you have any superstitions or routines you do before your meets?
MG: “I don’t have any.”
NAeye: What is your favorite pre-meet snack?
MG: “I would have to say mott’s fruit snacks and the dark chocolate pretzel nuga bar.
NAeye: what is your favorite post-meet meal?
MG: “My go to after meet meal is pizza.”
