After Hours- The Weeknd

  1. “After Hours” is The Weeknd’s sixth album, and it had 221 million streams and sold 275,000 copies as a full album. Not only does the album have many great songs, but it also has a deeper meaning, as well. At music award shows and in many of his performances, he has his “beat-up” face bandaged and wrapped up most of the time. The singer explained to Esquire earlier this year that his No. 1 hit single “Blinding Lights” is about “how you want to see someone at night, you’re intoxicated, and you’re driving to this person and you’re just blinded by the streetlights, but nothing could stop you from trying to see that person, because you’re so lonely. I don’t want to ever promote drunk driving, but that’s what the dark undertone is.” However, The Weeknd did not receive any Grammy nominations, which is very upsetting to him and his fans, especially for how successful this album was.
