NAEYE: What sport do you play? 

ZK: Cross Country, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track

 

NAEYE: What grade? 

ZK: 10th Grade

 

NAEYE: When did you start playing? 

ZK: Kindergarten

 

NAEYE: Why do you continue playing this sport?

ZK: Great stress reliever and life experience.

 

NAEYE: Do you play any other sports? 

ZK: If so, which ones? No other sports besides Running

 

NAEYE: What is your training/ conditioning like? 

ZK: Very high impact, running is a strenuous sport. 

 

NAEYE: Do you feel successful in your sport?

ZK: Yes, hard work and commitment pays off. 

 

NAEYE: What is your offseason like? How do you keep in shape during it? 

ZK: For runners offseason is meant to be a time for your legs to recover after months and months of hard training. Occasionally we may cross train such as biking or swimming to keep in somewhat shape for the next season.

NAEYE: What is the hardest part of your season and what challenges you most in your sport?

ZK: During the season it is most difficult to hold your “peak” for states to run well for the team, the hardest part of running in itself is pushing your body to its limit during every race.

 

NAEYE: How do you prepare for your games/meets? 

ZK: Before meets I will picture the course and surroundings in my head and try to focus on what my goal is for that meet and visualize myself obtaining that goal.

 

NAEYE: Do you feel pressured to succeed in your sport? 

ZK: At times yes, running varsity can be stressful with trying to help the team out, as well as trying to keep your position on the team.

 

NAEYE: What about your sport brings you the most joy?

 ZK: After running hundreds of miles with a group of teammates you create an unbreakable bond. 

 

NAEYE: What is your favorite pregame meal? 

ZK: Energy Chews
