In Quantico, Virginia, a group of profilers are part of the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the F.B.I. Local police departments around the country call in the team to help find a serial killer or an extremely violent criminal. The team works with the police to find the unidentified suspect, also known as an “unsub”, who is terrorizing those in the area. The team comes up with basic characteristics of victims and the unsub, also known as victimology. They use evidence and information from psychological analyses, which helps lead them to catching the unsubs.
