The television program Friends has been a classic and favorite sitcom of many people worldwide. The characters, lines, sets, and more are all well known by the millions of viewers of the show. The show ended its production in 2004, after filming 10 seasons of the show. There are many people that reminisce about the program by watching reruns. The fans of the show have awaited a reunion special for years, and the time has arrived for the reunion show.

The reunion special is set to premiere on the streaming service, HBO Max. The date of the long-awaited television event is Thursday, May 27. The airing will take place around midnight pacific standard time. The trailer has been released to the public, and the news that James Corden will be hosting the cast interview was announced as well. There has been some harsh backlash from the fans of the show over the news of Corden hosting the interviews. Ben Winston, who has worked closely with Corden over the years, will be directing the reunion special. However, regardless of the criticism, many fans of the former show are excited to reminisce and enjoy the program. The name of the special episode will be called, “The One Where They Get Back Together”. The name of the episode is a play on what the original episodes of the show were titled. The show will not be scripted, according to sources. Jennifer Aniston, who plays Rachel Green on the show, has implied how the actors will still be channeling their classic characters in some manner.

The main six stars of the show all have special roles on set beyond just acting. Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer will all make efforts in producing the reunion special as well. The acting on screen and the production of the screen will leave the actors with sizable paychecks. The six main actors will be making around $2.5 million to $3 million from the program.

There has been some delay in the process of the production, but the actors promised that the wait will be worth it. Jennifer Anniston reacted to the postponement by stating, “It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re stuck with us for life guys.” It’s safe to say that with Aniston’s reassurance, fans are very eager to watch the special.

Although the cast members have been spending time together off-camera, reuniting under filming circumstances brought up emotions for the actors. Social media posts, interview answers, and more have strongly revealed the excitement and nostalgia the stars of the original show are facing. Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay on the former sitcom, has mentioned the good and blissful memories they have shared, and she also mentioned how “fun” it is when they reconnect.

The fans have been waiting for a special reunion ever since the show called it quits. The delay of production has only brought anticipation to viewers as May 27 creeps around the corner. “The One Where They Get Back Together” is sure to excite fans after a long wait.
