A few months ago, Winter the dolphin passed away at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Winter’s death was devastating to many people around the world. She had made a large impact on others.

One of the things Winter showed was the ability to go through life’s toughest obstacles. Winter went through intense rehabilitation in an attempt to restore her ability to swim. For the first few months, Winter and the teams in Clearwater Marine Aquarium worked on getting her a prosthetic tail for her to use so she would be able to swim properly. When they managed to manufacture a prosthetic tail for Winter, it was a challenge to keep the prosthetic tail on her.

They had to make multiple versions of the prosthetic tail until they found one that would be comfortable for winter to wear. After they managed to  manufacture one for Winter that would be comfortable for her she was able to swim properly.

The one message Winter managed to show is that, even if you have a disability, it should not stop you from reaching your full potential. She was motivational to many people around the world. Some might even say Winter has saved their lives in a way.

In an article from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Stephanie Evans who suffers from a  major genetic disorder visited with Winter and made a connection. As the article states, “Winter was essentially helping Stephanie stay alive as she waited for the transplant , which finally happened in fall 2016”.

Winter’s legacy will be remembered by people around the world as well as the people she has inspired. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium team is deeply impacted by Winter’s death as they have had a difficult but exciting journey.

The way Winter has inspired people is absolutely astonishing and very memorable .
