Are you interested in advocating for equal rights for all genders? Gender Equity Series (GES) welcomes you! GES endeavors to be a safe space for students and teachers to discuss topics ranging from gender identity to representation in media to a myriad of other subjects. Join us on TUESDAY, September 20th at NAI in Room 305 from 2:45-3:45 PM for our first meeting. Check your Blackboard Announcements to fill out the signup form. We hope to see you there!!

If you ever wanted to learn how to play chess or just want to get better at it through fun tournaments with prizes, you should join the NAI Chess Club! If you don’t know how to play chess or if you do know how and want to help teach, come join us at a chess learning session on Monday, September 19 in the NAI Lounge from 2:15-3:30. Sign up now to be a part of Best Buddies!  Best Buddies creates opportunities for one to one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Get paired up with a buddy and join in on our monthly activities.  For more information about Best Buddies or how to sign-up, find a poster hanging in the hallways or stop by and see Mrs. Liebenguth in the counseling office or Miss Grace in room 921.

Homecoming Dance tickets will go on sale next week, starting Wed., Sept. 21. Prices are $20 per student 9/21-9/23 and $25 per person on 9/28-9/30.  Payment is only by check payable to NAI.  Also, you and your parent MUST complete a hard copy of the dance agreement form located on Blackboard on the announcement page and turn it in at the time of ticket purchase.  You will not be permitted to purchase a ticket without this completed form.  If bringing a guest from another school, the guest must also complete a Dance Agreement Form and the Guest Permission Form to submit at the time of ticket purchase.  Both the guest ticket and NAI student ticket must be purchased at the same time in the morning from an advisor. Tickets are advance purchase only, and the last day to purchase a ticket is Friday, Sept. 30!

If you are interested in foreign policy and want to get more experience, Model UN may be for you! Model UN is a club where you can represent either a person or country and speak for their point of view.  The first informational meeting for new and old members is on Thursday  September 15th after school in the NASH library. We will begin at 2:45 and the meeting will end at 3:30. Learn to be a diplomat, join Model UN!  We hope to see you there! 

Calling all history lovers! The North Allegheny History Bowl team is looking for new members for the 2022-23 season. Whether you’re fascinated by the Emu War, the Mona Lisa’s many thefts, Handel’s Water Music on the River Thames, or any other interesting aspect of history, History Bowl has a place for you. The team will be having its first meeting on Tuesday, September 13th after school in the NASH GOAL Office. Anyone interested in joining the Robotics Club this year, we will have our first meeting after school, on September 14th in room 708 from 2:30 – 3:45. We will be starting a team for the South Western Pa Bots IQ program which is a combat robotics style competition. Stand Together is a student-to-student initiative that inspires and equips youth to take action against stigma associated with mental illness and substance use disorders. Students work to ‘stand together’ to increase education and awareness, increase social inclusion, and encourage adolescents to talk to an adult if they are concerned about their own or another student’s mental health. Interested in learning more about Stand Together? Come to an informational meeting Wednesday, Sept 14th during homeroom in the counseling office.
