Political debates don’t just take place face-to-face all of the time; it goes far beyond. In our society, politics are a highly popular subject on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram.

In some ways, this can be beneficial because it allows a much larger amount of people to stay up to date with current events and the news. However, social media can cause various problems and arguments online, considering people’s varying opinions. Specifically, the social media social media platform we are examining in this article is Instagram.

With approximately 800 million users on Instagram, it means that there are millions of people with millions of different opinions all using the same platform. The problem with this is obvious: politics are a very personal subject to talk about. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it is how people get their point across that causes conflict.

Instagram is one of the biggest social media platforms to exist and is popular among people of all ages. It is well known for things like hate speech, cyberbullying, and misuse of social media overall. People from all over the world can say whatever they want while hiding behind an online account that can be easily deleted or made anonymous.

Not everyone has the same perspective on political concerns, this can lead to many harsh, even hateful, comments toward one and other. Lately, there has been an uproar in social media comment-wars regarding politics.

Social media dealing with politics has without a doubt raised more opportunities for people to have their opinion to be heard by the general public. Today, people can now discuss any topic that they want by simply commenting about how they feel about a specific current event.

Instagram is one of the most popular platforms to express thoughts and opinions dealing with current events all over the world. Even though people can’t always come to an agreement, people are happy to have the opportunity to express their concerns and be heard. Although we might not believe the same things, sharing opinions on social media is a good way to see from the point of view of others.
