The dove is along the same lines like peace sometimes I just look at it when I get stressed or wound up i just look at it, it just makes me think of just peace, hold you peace and I always tell people before you get a tattoo make sure there’s a story that you're gonna wanna share and tell 20 years from now

The one on my foot says “It was then when I carried you” and my daughter and I both got this on our feet when she was a sophomore in college and it was right after my divorce from her dad was final which was a real rocky road for all of us. She chose the location on the foot, chose the font, chose the phrase because it’s the last line in a story called FootPrints. That story is about a man who gets to the end of his life and he's talking to God about all his trials and tribulations and how God walked with him through all of those things and there were always in his mind two sets of footprints in the sand because god was walking with him but when he got his toughest times there was only one set of footprints and he said too god how could you leave me then to walk alone through all those hard times and god said to him My son why would I do that to you? When you were struggling the most and you saw one set of footprints in the sand, it was then that I carried you. So for my daughter and I that was just a message of strength and faith and resilience in rough times so now we have that on our foot always to remember it.

I love spanish and when I was studying abroad in Costa Rica one of their phrases is pura vida literally it means pure life but they don’t really use it literally they use it has an expression for everything.
