Act One Theater School is performing Mean Girls: High School Version

Act One is showcasing Mean Girls: High School Version on February 8th at 7:00pm, February 9th at 7:00pm, and February 10th at 1:00 and 7:00pm at Comtra Theater in Cranberry Township.

Mean Girls released in 2004 is one of the most well known movies. Starring famous stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Rachel McAdams, Mean Girls has taken over.

Written by original Mean Girls writer and actor Tina Fey, Mean Girls The Musical first took stage on October 31st, 2017. Since then so many schools and programs have put on the show. Including Act One Theater School.

Mean Girls follows new student Cady Heron and her journey through a new high school and environment. We see her navigate through opposite cliques and slowly turn into a mean girl.

North Allegheny’s own Ethan Bice as Damien Hubbard, Lucy Kenney as Karen Smith, Faith Myers as Ms.Norbury, Layla Mcgann and Hannah Ginsburg as Mrs.George, and Izzy West as Mr.Duvall are all appearing in the production.

The show also features fantastic performers from outside North Allegheny: Lordyn Schomaeker and Maddy Hannan as Cady Heron, Bri Kelly as Regina George, Ruby MacKenzie and Liv Ferezan as Gretchen Weiners, Allie Rishel as Karen Smith, Rowan Kotchey and Kristina Domencic as Janis Ian, Ben Wolfe as Aaron Samuels, Marielle Dillner and Clara Lord as Kevin G, Abby Maher as Ms.Norbury, Ruby Fedin as Mrs.Heron, and Kevin Jansen as Mr.Heron.

Come and support Act One seniors’ last performances with our Act One family showcasing all their hard work: Luke Greb as Damien Hubbard, Echo Schomaeker as Regina George, and Aiden Fedell as Aaron Samuels.

Senior Luke Greb who’s been doing Act One for almost 13 years says he’s incredibly sad that this is his last show with this company and friends but he thinks “everyone should come see Mean Girls because it’s iconic. The show itself is everything. Our cast is perfect and Act One shows always seem to pull through for the better.”

Directed by Julianne Avolio and dance choreographer Hannah Taylor, the show promises to be a lot of fun!

We have worked very hard from music work with Joe Stamerra, Courtney Milstead, and Mark Domencic to dance work with Hannah Taylor. We want to share this experience with everyone!

Senior Echo Schomaeker says, “It’s really worth it to go see different portrayals of the same character.” They feel that Act One is really good at giving opportunities. Since they’re a senior, they think Act One’s prepared them for theater after graduation.

Schomaeker states, “Everyone in both casts are really close. I just love them all. When on stage the connections are real.”

It’s very bittersweet for all of our seniors. Just like Echo Schomaeker said, it’s extremely worth it to see both of our amazing casts.
