“I do love Donald Trump,” Kanye West reportedly told American radio station, Hot 97 radio.

It’s no secret Kanye West- an American rapper, fashion icon, and entrepreneur, has a special place in his heart for president Donald Trump and his policies.

West has no shame in showing this when proclaiming his love for Trump over social media. Many of West’s fans on Instagram and Twitter respond by either criticizing or supporting his posts in the comments. West has taken it all in stride though, even tweeting, “He is my brother.”

A brief history lesson:

Back in 2015, West declared he would be running for president in 2020 during a VMAs acceptance speech. Donald Trump welcomed the competition by responding, “I hope to run against him someday.” A year later, the internet went into a frenzy when Kanye met with Trump at Trump Tower. Trump told journalists during the meeting that he and Kanye have been “friends for a long time.”

Even more recently, on Thursday, October 12, West met with Trump in the Oval Office. This meeting was arranged to examine a variety of issues concerning racism, tax breaks, prison reform, mental health, and the need for art programs in schools.

Despite the intention for the meeting, many of West’s comments are what people find most memorable.  This includes West saying that he felt like “superman” in his MAGA hat. West also dropped the F-bomb during his “sophisticated” meeting.

The meeting was broadcasted all over major news stations who also commented their opinions on West’s speech.

Pause.

Wait. One second.

An obvious question should be posed here: why in the world is Kanye West being invited to the White House to discuss public policy questions?  Do we not have anyone more qualified to discuss these crucial topics?

So, what now?

There is no precedent in American politics for a “bromance” quite like this one.  West has been invited to the White House to discuss public policy without any major knowledge on the subjects.  Could this occurrence become a regular ordeal for President Trump?

If so, how will the people of America react?  Will they take it seriously, or will it be just another joke?

There is a lot of controversy surrounding Kanye West’s recent soliloquy. Not surprisingly, SNL role played the meeting.

Only time will tell whether or not any changes will be made, but one thing is for sure,  Kanye West and Donald Trump have become the major discussion at this moment.
